Borneol has a  sharp piney odor and has a wide use in the cosmetics and drugs industry. It's been suggested that its burning taste is reminiscent of mint. Borneol has been identified in more than 250 essential oils from plants, herbs, leaves or bark and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
